Major Earthquake Hits Japan, Google Launches Person Finder Tool
By now, I am sure you have heard the devastating news that a major earthquake that hit Japan.
A 8.9-magnitude quake struck Japan at 2:46 p.m. local time, so far at least 50 are dead. Japan is also expecting tsunamis to follow, possibly leading to more destruction and lost lives.
In light of the tragedy, Google activated their Person Finder tool in Japan. Google tweeted, “Google Person Finder available after earthquake in Japan to help you get information about loved ones. http://goo.gl/rlR07.” The tool is designed to help family and friends locate each other during the caos.
