New: Gmail Results Embedded In Google Search Results

Google announced in this morning’s Google Search Breakfast that it is integrating Gmail emails directly into Google search results. This means you can search Google and find emails from your Gmail (not Google Apps) account directly in the search results.

The Gmail results show on the top right section, collapsed neatly and ordered by relevance of your query.

Google will also show relevant contacts and upcoming flights found in your email based on your search query.

This is currently an experiment, which you can sign up over here. It is available for the first one million who sign up.

OMG if I had not seen this info I would have been FREAKING OUT that my gmail was somehow showing up in search results to the public, LOL.

Well, I guess you need to be logged in to your Google account every time you want to see this.

Why would I want to see content I already knows exists?  Hey Google stop cluttering SERPs with stuff I already know about in other locations.

Was thinking the exact same thing. If I had not seen this article I would have thought I was losing my mind or I had been hacked or something!

Interesting. Not a bad idea actually.

I can see a lot of people using this, thus making the “not provided” problem even worse.

  • Jonathan Girouard

I think the same, there’s already a search field in our gmail account, why merge with Google search engine itself ?

  • w3origin

Impressive updates from Google….. as usual.

  • Yw
