Via the TulsaWorld.com:

"By Staff Reports
5/2/2007 7:55 AM

Internet giant Google is expected to announce plans for a major data center at Mid-America Industrial Park in Pryor at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday during a ceremony at the park.

Though the company has not offered any details about its Pryor location, other recently-announced "server farms" in North Carolina and South Carolina will be constructed on 210 acres and 520 acres, respectively. Both would cost $600 million to build and eventually employ 200.

In November, a Delaware limited liability company called Myall LLC registered with the Oklahoma secretary of state. The Oklahoma Ordnance Works Authority then sold Myall 800 acres immediately south of the Gatorade plant under construction at the park.

Last month, the Grand River Dam Authority agreed to double the capacity of a planned Mid-America Industrial Park substation being built at the request of an anonymous future tenant operating under the shell company Tathra LLC. Tathra and Myall are believed to be connected.

Google uses server farms, or large clusters of computers, to power Internet search requests and other services provided by the company online."

I blogged about this a couple of weeks back <a href="http://www.seorefugee.com/seoblog/2007/04/06/google-going-to-be-ok/" rel="nofollow"> Google Going to be OK</a> but I still can't believe it. I suppose it makes sense in terms of power and space but there's gonna be some culture shock for sure.

I am Oklahoman and have a lake house approximately 60 miles from Google's rumored location.

<a href="http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&f=d&saddr=Snake+Creek+Rd,+Cookson,+OK+74427&daddr=Pryor,+OK+74361&ie=UTF8&z=10&om=1" rel="nofollow">http://www.google.com/maps?hl=en&f=d&saddr=Snake+Creek+Rd,+Cookson,+OK+74427&daddr=Pryor,+OK+74361&ie=UTF8&z=10&om=1</a>

Eastern, Oklahoma is beautiful and has an abundance of water.

If you are out this way in July be sure to stop by Pryor's hair fest "Rocklahoma"

Pittsburgh *sigh*.... why not Philly? I can then be the like Barry and get the exclusive tour of the building and ride a skooter around. :)

Come on Google, Philly is after all the City of Brotherly Love (just please don't watch our evening news casts).
