Anti-abortion groups to buy ads on Google from the TimesOnline reports that Google is now accepting “pro-life” search ads. In the past, Google did not allow anti-abortion groups to advertise against abortion-related keywords. Google stopped that practice a couple days ago after agreeing that the policy it may breach UK’s Equalities Act of 2006.
The Christian Institute took Google to court earlier in the year, citing that Google breached the Equalities Act of 2006. Back then, Google said they would fight it in court. But Google changed their minds and said they would like to create a “level playing field and enabling religious associations to place ads on abortion in a factual way.” Of course, this means Google will determine which ads are “factual” and which ads are not.
