Just a quick reminder for our
SearchCap newsletter readers and anyone who visits
Search Engine Land. Our first Search
Marketing Expo event,
SMX Advanced, happens in Seattle this June 4 and 5. We hope you’ll be
attending. If so, register before April 2 to save on getting a ticket!
The show is aimed at intermediate-to-advanced search marketers. Here are some
highlights from the agenda, ranging from networking opportunities, summits,
debates and sessions offering tips:
- Networking: We have three different networking events. SMX Bash
happens before the show starts and is open to all attendees (expo-only and
full-pass holders). The networking reception at the end of the first day is
also open to everyone,. SMX At Night, in the evening of the first day, will be
open to full-pass attendees. More news about SMX At Night will be posted
shortly.
- Summits: Because we have an experienced audience coming, I’ve got
several sessions focused on search issues where the audience can be involved
in pushing for changes. We’ll cover duplicate content, penalties and paid
search wish lists. On the conference
home page, you’ll
see this line: "Be a leader by being among the leaders in the industry at this
show." That’s what the summits are especially about, a way for leaders in the
space to help shape and influence future directions.
- Debates: Similar to the summits, debates are a way I hope leaders
can influence the industry. We’ve got two, one about SEO, the other on paid
search. It’s going to be a real debate, too — with teams, statements,
responses and then the audience getting in on the action at the end.
- Tips & Tactics: One of the biggest challenges in doing the agenda
is figuring out topics that will appear to pros. I’ve tried to focus on areas
that even pros might be neglecting or wondering about: social media,
personalized search, tricky issues in paid search and overlooked paid search
opportunities. The "Give It Up" session also challenges top search marketers
to share some of their most closely guarded tips.
You can read much more at the
SMX Advanced conference
web site plus register there for the show. See you in Seattle!
