Search Engine Land’s conference series, Search Marketing Expo, has now announced dates for new shows in Europe and our "big" SMX West event to be held in Santa Clara next February 26-28.
Back when I wrote 9 Reasons To Attend SMX Advanced, I explained that our SMX Advanced show that happens this coming June 4th & 5th was only the first of many events we had planned. Here’s a full recap of what we’ve now got planned:
-
SMX Advanced: Seattle, June 4-5, 2007
Our inaugural show designed for the experienced search marketer. Each day will feature two tracks of sessions, one track focused on organic SEO issues, the other on paid search advertising.
-
SMX Local & Mobile: Denver, Oct. 1-2, 2007
This event focuses on reaching out to searchers who tap into local and mobile search for information.
-
SMX Social Media – New York, Oct. 16-17, 2007
A new generation is finding information not by searching at traditional search engines but rather through discovery at social media sites. This show examines the mix of social and search marketing.
-
SMX Stockholm: Stockholm, Oct. 31 & Nov. 1, 2007
Our first European show, with sessions covering a range of search marketing issues. It’s designed for marketers of all skill levels, with a special emphasis on targeting Europe.
-
SMX Travel@PhoCusWright: Orlando, Nov. 12-13, 2007
The event is designed for search marketers who specialize in the travel industry. It will be held in conjunction with the large, annual PhoCusWright travel conference.
-
SMX London: London, Nov. 15-16, 2007
Sessions will cover all aspects of search marketing, be applicable to marketers of all skill levels, and there will be an emphasis on targeting the United Kingdom.
-
SMX West: Santa Clara, California: Feb. 26-28, 2008
Internally, we’ve called this "SMX Big West," since it will be our first three day show. There will be multiple session designed for marketers of all skill levels, a two day expo and tons of networking.
It’s a big job pulling together all these shows, which is why we’re thrilled to be working with our European partner Rising Media and working with our travel partner PhoCusWright.
I hope to see many readers at our upcoming SMX Advanced show next month, as well as one of our other shows happening in the coming months!

Danny,
The way you picked the dates for the Santa Clara conference is interesting.
Since I only go to 2-3 conferences a year and PubCon and your Santa Clara conference are only a couple of months apart I am going to have to decide between a Brett or Danny show.
Not sure which way I will go at this point.
