SMX Toronto Keynote: Jon Sinden of Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment

jon sinden We’re delighted to announce that Jon Sinden, Manager of Digital Content & Social Media for Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment, will be presenting one of the keynotes at SMX Toronto, on Wednesday, March 20th at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Jon has one of the best, but sometimes most challenging jobs any online marketer could dream about. During good times, he gets to engage with some of the most passionate fans and customers in the world. But during not-so-good times, he also has to engage with some of the most passionate fans and customers in the world – and he has to be super-agile, because they aren’t necessarily happy. In his keynote address, Jon will showcase how one organization’s approach to creating and sharing content has created a unique relationship with fans, looking at examples of how the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Raptors and Toronto FC connect with fans using all things social, story-telling, crowd-sourcing and beyond.

Jon is a fan first, whether it’s marketing, social media, or sports and music. A lifetime Leafs and Raptors fan, and Toronto FC season seat holder, Jon is Manager of Digital Content & Social Media for Maple Leafs Sports & Entertainment. Delivering top-notch, shareable content and enhancing the relationship between fans & brands share top billing in Jon’s world. Some may remember Jon as the Marketing Director for radio station 102.1 the Edge in Toronto. During his tenure the station received the highest ratings ever in its 27-year history. Jon was also the three-time recipient of the Gold Ribbon from the Canadian Association of Broadcasters – the highest achievement in the radio biz.

You won’t want to miss Jon’s insights and tips, or any of the other speakers at SMX Toronto, two packed days focusing on search and social media marketing. Want to know more? I’m guessing he’s experiences a lot more bad than good. The Leafs are perennial losers, and the Raptors seem to be building a legacy that’s quite similar.
