Search Engine Land’s Top Tweeted Stories Of 2012: Pandas, Google and a Zuckerberg

There’s no question, the Search Engine Land Twitterverse likes to talk about the Panda updates.

We took a look at the top tweeted stories of 2012 using Social Crawlytics, and without a doubt, Google and Panda-related stories trumped much of the Twitter activity in the past year. Mark Zuckerberg did make an appearance in one of our top-tweeted headlines, but in the context of search.

So here they are, the top tweeted Search Engine Land posts of 2012!

    All the three terms are deservedly being the words which are tweeted for the most no. of times by SearchEngineLand. Google with goods than controversies surely deserves to be on the top of the chart. I would also like to know stats related to the search traffic to SEL site in the previous year with the search terms around these keywords and also the social media traffic when links to posts containing these keywords are either posted or tweeted.

    Those would be interesting stats to see for sure. We do quite a bit of internal analyses, along these lines. Search news changes so quickly it’s fun to see the keyword trend from year to year. In terms of social keywords, generally Google-related posts do well on Google+. Facebook-related news does well on Facebook. Other popular topics (no matter what channel) include SEO, Panda, Penguin, and of course, Matt Cutts. :)

Those are really great stats in your comment Monica, certainly people on a particular social network will be more engaging if they see the content related to that particular social network.
