Twitter Builds Its Ad Sales Team

As Twitter continues to take steps to execute on its business plan, the company has announced two important hires today: Dan Coughlin as Director of Sales for the Eastern Region, and Amanda Levy as Director of Sales for the Western Region. Coughlin comes to Twitter from Facebook, where he worked for four years and was Direcor of Media Sales. Levy most recently led Yelp’s West Coast sales operation and spent five years there.

“We’re putting together a top-flight sales team as we begin to open our Promoted Suite of products to more companies,” said Twitter COO Dick Costolo today.

In recent months, Twitter has dipped its toes in the revenue waters by launching Promoted Twitter Trends and Promoted Tweets. That’s currently the “Promoted Suite” that Costolo mentions, but no doubt there will be more to come in the future as Twitter seeks to grow revenues.
