It’s finally here, we made it!

It’s the first day of Spring and the flowers are beginning to bloom – even on Google’s homepage.

The site replaced its logo today with a stop-motion illustration by designer Kirsten Lepore.

The blooming daffodils, crocuses, tulips and other Spring flowers link to a search results page for ‘Vernal Equinox’ which happens every year in the Northern Hemisphere on or near March 20.

Today’s Google homepage also includes a link to a site promoting the United Nations Foundation’s International Happiness Day: “It’s International Day of Happiness. Join the party for a happy planet.”

Fair warning – clicking on the ‘Join the party’ link may result in Pharrell William’s “Happy” song being stuck in your head the rest of the day.
