Welcome Amy Gesenhues, Jessica Thompson & Ginny Marvin To Search Engine Land, Marketing Land

Search Engine Land logoWe’ve filled three positions on our editorial team and it’s a pleasure to introduce you to the newest Third Door Media staffers: Amy Gesenhues, Jessica Thompson and Ginny Marvin.

Amy GesenhuesAmy Gesenhues is our new, full-time General Assignment Correspondent. She’ll be covering a variety of search- and marketing-related stories for us on both Search Engine Land and Marketing Land.

Amy has more than 10 years of marketing management experience, and was an award-winning syndicated newspaper columnist before joining our team. She’s also written for sites such as Marketing Profs and Software CEO. Amy’s first day with us was Monday, so you’ll be seeing her byline regularly going forward. (You may have seen her first article already: Google Maps Takes Users To The Highest Mountain Peaks In The World.)

Jessica ThompsonJessica Thompson has accepted our Associate Features Editor position, and will be officially starting with us on April 1st. She’ll be working with Features Editor Pamela Parker in managing the dozens of columns and columnists that we publish every weekday on Search Engine Land and Marketing Land.

Among other things, Jessica’s been a web designer, copywriter, editor and SEO consultant during her online marketing career. Most recently, Jessica has been working with Advance Digital where she provides SEO and social media consulting for 12 major regional news websites and helps train journalists in digital optimization. Much of Jessica’s work with us will happen behind-the-scenes, but you may also see her byline on our sites occasionally.

Ginny MarvinLast but not least is someone whose name you should already recognize: Ginny Marvin. Ginny joined us in January as a part-time contributing writer and, as of April 1st, will become our full-time Contributing Editor.

Ginny will continue to focus on paid search and paid social/advertising while writing for both Search Engine Land and Marketing Land. We’re excited that she’s coming on board full-time, and we know she’s a great fit — in large part because she survived her first full staff meeting last week at our SMX West conference!

We received more than 100 applications for these three positions when we advertised them in January. Thanks to all who expressed interest in joining Third Door Media.

We hope all of our readers will join us in giving Amy, Jessica and Ginny a warm welcome to our editorial team.

We also have other staffing news. Two of our existing editors are receiving new titles and duties. Our separate post has more about that: Congrats Elisabeth Osmeloski & Monica Wright, New Director Of Audience Development & Director Of Community
