Ekstreme noticed that Yahoo Search is supporting auto-discovery for searches. Yahoo has been doing this since at least 2005, but it’s still not known to many people. Here’s how it works:
Conduct a search at Yahoo Search for yahoo and notice that if you are using Firefox or a recent browser, an RSS indicator will show up in the URL bar. Here is a screen capture of that in action on my Firefox Mac browser–notice the little RSS icon in the URL bar.
Yahoo also has auto-discovery for Yahoo News, Flickr, Images, and other vertical search results.
