You may have heard that HTML structure “doesn’t matter that much” for ranking. That’s what Google’s Gary Illyes said recently. But that doesn’t mean HTML structure no longer matters at all.
HTML structure can make or break your SEO strategy in many ways, according to Search Engine Land contributor Ryan Jones.
“If your markup causes stuff to be inaccessible or not seen, yes, it matters a ton. If you’re hoping to get a ranking boost by re-ordering some headings or bolding some text, it’s likely not going to happen,” according to Jones.
