Copa América 2016 schedule attached to Google doodle marking tournament’s 100th anniversary
Formerly known as the South American Fútbol Championship, Copa América is the longest-running continental fútbol competition.
Today’s Google doodle marks the 100th anniversary of Copa América, the longest-running international fútbol tournament.
Sixteen teams representing South America, Central America and the US will compete in the 2016 tournament. This is the first time in the tournament’s 100-year history that the games will be hosted in the US, with 32 matches played in 10 different US cities.
The Copa América tournament starts today, with the US taking on Colombia in Santa Clara, California.

Google’s Copa América Centenario doodle leads to a search for “Copa América 2016 schedule” and delivers the tournament’s schedule listed atop search results.
The doodle also includes a sharing icon to post the image on social pages or send via email.
