gforaday_switz_logo.gifGoogle has launched the Googler for a Day competition. The purpose of the competition is to encourage teenagers to “explore the world of Computer Science.” The finalists will be invited for a day at Google’s European Engineering Centre in Zurich.

Four Swiss classes will be selected to participate in the day, which consists of a scavenger hunt, interactive coding projects, a legendary Google lunch and more. The day will run from 10am though 3pm on either November 14, November 20, November 27 or December 4th.


You have until October 8, 2008 to apply. The application form is over here, which includes two essay questions.

This competition is not open to US based students. The eligibility requirements are that you must be 14-16 years old, in a Swiss school class focused on gymnasium, the class must be less than 27 students, plus a few more requirements.
