Good morning, Marketers, we live in a special time where we have access to data in real time and we often can use that to make decisions before that data even fully comes in.
Back when there was no internet, we had newspaper, radio and TV ads. At best, the data marketers gleaned from those campaigns was limited. But they did gather huge amounts of data, often made up of surveys those channels sent their audience. And advertisers used that data to make marketing, purchasing and business decisions.
Today, we live in more of a real time data world where often we get data from our ad platforms as soon as the impression occurs. In fact, often we are able to predict the data before it even happens and you have platforms that use machine learning and AI to make business decisions before the data even comes in.
But sometimes, with SEO, the data is slow and limited compared to Google Ads or other ad platforms. Google Search Console data often is delayed not just several hours, but sometimes days and sometimes data gets lost. SEOs can use predictive models but sometimes SEOs need to be a bit more patient when making decisions based on that data.
We live in an interesting time as marketers, don’t we?
