Many of you are anxiously waiting for the next Google core update. It’s been a month since we were told the next core update was weeks away. Well, there is still no core update to report (as of the time I write this).

The Google Search ranking volatility over the past month has been pretty intense. I’ve covered that volatility, which seems less of a news story and more of what is expected, on Search Engine Roundtable once or twice per week.

Meanwhile, for those hit by the September 2023 helpful content update 11 months ago, it has been a painful wait. Many have given up, laid off the majority of their staff, taken new jobs or filed for unemployment. We understand your pain.

However, if the recent volatility is any indication, those impacted by the helpful content update likely won’t see any relief from the next Google core update.
