Google’s Search Generative Experience is forecast to trigger a steep decline in search traffic, with experts predicting that publishers in particular will be hit hard.
Analysts say that publishers can expect their organic traffic to plummet between 20% and 60% when SGE rolls out, which could cost them up to $2 billion in advertising revenue.
Judging by recent SGE studies, the impact it’ll have on your search traffic will vary depending on your industry. Of course, the full extent won’t be clear until it fully rolls out – which Google has confirmed is still happening, just not when.
