Not all sites will fully recover by the end of 2025 from Google core algorithm updates. That’s not me saying it. It’s Google – Danny Sullivan, specifically. And this isn’t the first time Google has told us as much.

Your lost traffic may never come back. Sullivan said this in September. And Google reiterated it again in October. Plus, we know more core updates and other “improvements” are coming to Google search in 2025. Yes, the hits will just keep on coming.

Struggling with Google core updates and volatility? We’ve got an entire session dedicated to the topic (Google algorithm updates in 2025: How to deal with relentless rank volatility, with Mordy Oberstein) at SMX Advanced, taking place June 11-13 in Boston. You can learn more and register here for SMX Advanced.
