Good morning, Marketers, and happy Valentine’s Day.

Did you know that searches for “love” peak every February around this time? However, trends data over the last 18 years suggests that interest in “love” is at an all-time low.

I find that a bit hard to believe as I’ve found a lot to love over the last few years — especially within the search marketing industry. People in both the paid and organic side are always enthusiastic about doing what’s right and making the industry a better place.

We can see this in the general consensus between paid search practitioners that user privacy must to be protected, even though that would hinder their capabilities. Another example is experts who I get in touch with for interviews: most accept my requests, but some have referred me to other experts that they feel have been overlooked — this is especially significant as diversity in our industry continues to be an issue.

It’s not your typical Valentine’s Day love, but it’s more love than I’ve ever had for the audience I serve and the people I’ve met along the way. Thanks for being a part of that and happy Valentine’s Day!
