Google: “Please, please start using Google+”

    I don’t see it any SERPS but #googleglass. I tried #facebook #grammys #syria #egypt #nike.

Google: “I’m gonna make you an offer you can’t refuse” – use Google+ / Google Maps or stay out of Google’s 1st page

Making things posted to a network easier to find in a search engine is not enough of an incentive to get people to use a social network.

  • Chad Harris

    I believe there is some connection – ( not provided ) #youwant-better use G+

  • Durant Imboden

It sounds like a reasonably useful feature for social chatterers who follow trending topics, at the expense of yet more clutter in Google’s overcrowded SERPs.

  • Tom

Not seeing anything like this yet in Google Australia…although that is usually standard…

  • Etienne Clergue

I’ve been explaining to many clients for a while now that creating a Google+ profile (as well as a local profile) is going to become a necessity to rank well, and I guess this is confirmation that it’s all happening.
Being cynical we could say that G+ is so far behind its main social competitors that this is a desperate attempt to drive activity….

nor in Google UK search results…shouldn’t be long though

I can see Tumblr ranking for most of the queries and sites which have /tag/ extension in permalink

Now now! This is crap. I mean now Google is literally trying to push Plus aggressively. Don’t you think it is only going to increase spamming in GPlus? This is like coercing your customers to buy refrigerator from you because you have earlier bought their television set :-)

and make your life surrounded by google

  • w3rdsmyth

Google+ 1.01 billion users. Facebook 1.15 billion users. Yeah….a shame no one is using Google+

  • http://www.jaankanellis.com incrediblehelp

Tell the numbers on active users???? Just becuase you have a Google acccount doesnt mean you use Google+

  • w3rdsmyth

And you think that all of those 1.15 billion facebook accounts are valid. I personally know about 100 people with at least 10 fake facebook accounts just to play 1 game. I’m betting if you compared active accounts by real people, the Facebook numbers would look even worse.

i tried several attempts, and they all worked…until I tried to search #hategoogle and all of the sudden its not showing on the right hand side.

  • Ben Poulton

Brace yourselves, the blackhatters are coming to G+. Be on the lookout for the next “How i made $5678.32 in day by ranking #1 in Google through Google+ posts!”

  • Marc_Razia

Just because a social network isn’t as big as Facebook doesn’t mean no one uses it. That’s like saying anyone that doesn’t have as much money as Warren Buffett doesn’t have any money.

There are over 100 celebrities EACH with 1 million+ followers on G+. There are numerous special interest communities with 100,000+ members posting, sharing, commenting, etc. These are things anyone can verify themselves.

Its not in FB’s league yet, but G+ is clearly being used.

  • Marc_Razia

Yeah imagine that. A company pushing its own products. Its unprecedented!

  • http://www.nikhilchandra.in/ Nikhil Chandra

Its not unprecedented BTW. Conglomerates have this tendency wherein they think they own the users just like in Democracy when the Prez thinks he owns the nation

OK no doubt Google is pushing for Google+ to be the hub of everything Google: http://www.portent.com/data/dispersed-citation/
