Google Analytics data delayed or missing for some

The data issues with GA4 began around November 13, 2024.

Many Google Analytics users have been reporting that GA4 is missing partial data starting on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The data seems delayed more than it is normally delayed for some users.

Not everyone is noticing this issue, so it might not be impacting all Google Analytics profiles but many have been complaining about the issue since last Thursday.

What we are seeing. I first noticed the issue when Taylor Kurtz messaged me about it on X saying, ” are you seeing any delays in GA4? A few of my properties haven’t updated to show Wednesday traffic. Really hate the delayed reporting in GA4.”

There are many complaints in the Google Analytics Forums about this issue as well.

In short, GA4 seems to be missing partial day since November 13th. Some are reporting they are now seeing the November 13th data backfilled but later dates are still missing data.

Google silent. Google has not yet commented about the data delay issues. It is unclear if Google will comment or not.

But here are some, just a select few, of the many complaints, that you will find online about this issue:

Why we care. If you are noticing unusual traffic data in GA4 on or after November 13, 2024, you are not alone. Many are complaining about the data delays or issues with GA4, so it is not just you.

The timing is not great either with Google November 2024 core update.

Postscript. Google has now confirmed the issue saying:

“We’re investigating reports of an issue with Google Analytics. We will provide more information shortly. There is an issue affecting the generation of standard reporting tables. Granular reports (accessed via the explore module) and BigQuery exports are unaffected. We are working on restoring the reporting tables.
