The Google AdWords Blog announced that to make things simpler they have created a new “umbrella name” for Google display ads on YouTube, Google Finance, Gmail, Google Maps, Blogger and Google’s display ad partners.

The new name is the “Google Display Network.” The Google Display Network lets you run ads in text, image, rich media, and video ads formats and you can bid on them via AdWords or make reservations on YouTube and Google Finance. Google even launched a new page at google.com/adwords/displaynetwork with more details.

Soon you will see some places where the “Google Content Network” is referred to change to being referred to as the “Google Display Network.” Google
