Google Tests: New Mobile Search Design & People Also Ask Box

Here are two new Google user interface tests, one is a redesign of the mobile results and the second is a query refinement box.

Google is frequently testing new user interfaces both on desktop and mobile, new search features both on desktop and mobile and new algorithms both on desktop and mobile. The latest two tests spotted were a brand new look and feel for the mobile results and a new box named “people also ask” that generated related queries for your search term.

Google New Mobile Search Design Test

This one was spotted by Android Police. The image on the left is the Google mobile design you and I would typically see, the one on the right is the new test Google is trying out:

The new look feels somewhat more like the desktop version of Google, just more of a responsive design approach.

People Also Ask Search Box

Dan Barker spotted this and posted it on Twitter. It has a box towards the top of the search results that says “people also ask,” and then lets you click on alternative or related search queries to refine your search results.
