Do you know what today is? Why, it’s the first day of Search Week, happening through October 4 in New York City. We’ve just received the proclamation from Mayor Michael Bloomberg, declaring it so. It happens in conjunction with our SMX East search marketing show in town this week.
New York is home to any number of “weeks” throughout the year, such as Fashion Week. I’ve always wanted to see it play host to a “Search Week.” New York is such a capital for advertising and marketing. Search is the biggest and most thriving aspect of online marketing there is. I’ve wanted to see it celebrated with its own “week.”
In the future, we’d like to see Search Week expand into a series of events happening alongside our own SMX event. Maybe we can get Google to do some tours of its cool New York offices for visiting search marketers. But for now, SMX East has a lot to offer for anyone wanting to get into the Search Week spirit.
The pre-conference workshops have already started, but the main event starts tomorrow and runs through Thursday. A full conference pass gives you access to over 50 sessions covering all aspects of search marketing. Check out the entire agenda here.
You can also still register today for a free Expo+ Pass. This is a great deal. It provides access to the entire expo floor, as well as sessions in our “Plus” tracks, the SMX Theater, my evening forum tomorrow and the keynote talk with Betaworks CEO John Borthwick on Wednesday morning. Everything an Expo+ Pass provides is covered here.
We’re also thrilled to be again cohosting with Covario the SMX After Dark Charity Party, raising money for three different deserving groups benefitting children in need.
I’m very happy to see Search Week finally declared in New York City, and I’m thrilled that it’s happening as our biggest ever show in the city is about to get under way.
