The animated doodle has replaced Google's logo on many of its home pages in the Northern Hemisphere, leading to a search for "vernal equinox."
Google has traded out its logo on many of its home pages in the Northern Hemisphere today with an animated Vernal Equinox doodle to mark the first day of spring.
The Vernal Equinox logo shows a rock garden happy finally to see a tree in bloom, until one rock blows all the pink leaves away. The doodle leads to a search for “vernal equinox” and includes a sharing icon to post on social pages or send via email.
Google designed a similar logo for the Autumnal Equinox happening below the equator today.
According to the Google Doodle blog, the autumnal equinox doodle marking the Southern Hemisphere’s first day of fall is only being displayed in Brazil right now.
