Today’s Google home page marks the return of pro football tonight with a Doodle celebrating the first day of this year’s NFL season.

The Doodle — an animated image of the Google letters taking the field — links to a search for [nfl scores] and is posted only on Google’s US home page.

This is the 96th season for the NFL. The first game happens tonight, with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on returning Super Bowl champions the New England Patriots at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game is being hosted by the Patriots and will be broadcast on NBC.
