Big AdWords Auction Insights Update: Now Get Competitive Data On Campaigns, Ad Groups, Keywords

google-adwords-square-logoIn the biggest update since the Auction Insights Report last year, Google AdWords advertisers now have the ability to run reports on more than just a single keyword to learn how their ad performance compares to the competition.

The Auction Insights Report allows advertisers to get competitive auction data on:

  • Groups of keywords. Filter your keyword list — by label, brand term, etc. — to see how your performance on those terms compares to your top competitors.
  • Individual or multiple ad groups. From the ad groups tab, select one or more ad groups to run an auction insights report to see your performance on all eligible keywords within those ad groups compared to advertisers who most commonly compete with you on those terms.
  • Individual or multiple campaigns. For a higher level view, select one or more campaigns from the campaigns tab, and run an Auction insights report there for a look at the competitive landscape.

The auction insights reports are located from the “Details” button from the campaign, ad group and keyword tabs.

Just ran a few reports for a some ad groups. Competitors are the usual suspects but the percentage breakdown over each metric is a big help.
