Google AI Mode monitoring capabilities now live for all
Google AI Mode monitoring capabilities is now live for all users, globally, not just the paid subscribers of Ultra and Pro subscriptions. This allows searchers to ask AI Mode to monitor changes or prices for products, restaurants, things to do and much more.
What Google announced. Robby Stein, VP of Product at Google Search, wrote:
- “Our Ultra and Pro subs have been using info monitoring capabilities in AI Mode in Search, and now we’re rolling it out to everyone globally.”
He then explained how it works:
- “Just tell AI Mode exactly what to look for & Search will continuously check across changing info on the web like sites, forums and social posts, our real-time data sources, and Shopping Graph of 60B+ products, so you can stay up-to-date with fresh info. And it’ll even suggest tasks when you’re searching so you can get the latest info when it happens.”
What it looks like. Here ia a video Stein shared of how the monitoring features work in AI Mode:
What can you search for. Robby Stein shared a few examples of the type of things you can monitor with this AI Mode feature, they include:
- New restaurants or pop-ups open near me
- Local holiday stuff to do with the kids
- Back in stock & price drop updates
Availability. This is now rolling out to all Google users, not just paid subscribers, in Google Search globally. To try it, open the Google app and search for those types of queries.
Why we care. Google Search and AI Mode continue to add new features and AI capabilities. As Google introduces them to paid subscribers, you just now it is a matter of time until it is released to all users – even unpaid users.
This may lead to searchers finding new restaurants or stores sooner, or price discounts on products they are eager to own.
