    In Google’s defense, I do seem to remember a message years back appearing when stop words were ignored. That the message now appears at the bottom of the page rather than at the top may be a bone of contention, but I wouldn’t argue that Google isn’t being transparent. Most people probably don’t know what a stop word is nor would they want to know.

    What I do find strange is that what is good for the gander isn’t good for the goose. You can get traffic details from Google for any website except google.* e.g. http://trends.google.com/websites?q=google.com%2C+bing.com%2C+yahoo.com%2C+ask.com&geo=all&date=all&sort=1
