What these Stripe numbers tell us

What’s worth paying attention to is where that volume comes from.

Over 100 companies now process more than $1 billion each through Stripe. That number has more than doubled since 2020. Stripe isn’t just growing because more small businesses are signing up. It’s growing because its biggest customers keep getting bigger.

It’s a fintech company that makes money every time online commerce happens. Which is why the scale of ecommerce matters directly to Stripe’s future.

Here are some stats on the companies driving that volume:

    • Temu statistics and growth data: 416.5 million monthly active users, $70.8 billion in gross merchandise value, and 1.8 billion monthly website visits. The fastest growing ecommerce marketplace in the world by user acquisition.
    • Shein statistics and growth data: $38 billion in sales, 186 million app downloads in 2024, and an 18% share of the global fast fashion market. Revenue still climbing even as downloads decline.
    • Amazon Prime statistics and growth data: 250 million members, $44.37 billion in subscription revenue, and $24.1 billion in Prime Day spending. The largest ecommerce membership program by a wide margin.
