Sony has announced a deal to provide Google’s YouTube five-minute clips of some of their most popular TV shows. Some of those shows include “Married With Children” and “Newsradio,” but they plan on adding more shows and even original content in the future.

Viacom has agreed to provide videos for distribution on Dailymotion, GoFish, iMeem, MeeVee, and Veoh Networks. Viacom Chief Executive Philippe Dauman told Reuters:

We’re at a phase of the development of the Internet, when we are seeing the accumulation of a lot of incremental changes that makes it easier for consumers and users to navigate information and entertainment online.

He also discussed offering video content in HD quality, saying, “We’re focused on making sure high definition technology succeeds.”
