If you’ve used the Google and/or Bing webmaster portals, Yandex’s will be familiar to you. On sign-up, users have five options to confirm site ownership: HTML file, meta tag, text file, WHOIS or DNS. Once your site is confirmed, Yandex.Webmaster shows a lot of information about how Yandex sees your site — pages that the spider has visited, pages appearing in Yandex search results, links, search queries and others.

The service also alerts webmasters if malware has been found on the site.

Yandex.Webmaster isn’t quite as full-featured as Google’s webmaster tools, but it’s a good start and a valuable tool for website owners who rely on Yandex as a source of traffic.
