Flickr has quietly rolled out a change to its search interface that makes it a lot easier to find images that are licensed through Creative Commons.

There’s a new “License” dropdown menu that shows at the top of the search results page, as shown above. It brings Creative Commons search filters right to the user, including “Commercial use allowed” and “Modifications allowed.” Publishers and content marketers often rely on these kinds of images to supplement articles and marketing materials.

Before the new dropdown, Creative Commons searching was only available through Flickr’s Advanced Search page, or via its dedicated Creative Commons page.
