Today is the 138th birthday of Howard Carter, the man known to have discovered the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, aka King Tut.

He was born today 1874 and discovered the tomb in 1922. It may be one of the most well known archaeological discoveries ever.

Carter was born and died in Kensington, London. He died from lymphoma at the age of 64 on March 2, 1939.
