What does lead U2 singer Bono and Google co-founder Sergey Brin have in common? They are both in the running for a new award named the Gorbachev Awards.
The Telegraph reports the former Soviet leader, Mikhail Gorbachev, is holding an international award designed for honoring “people capable of changing the world.”
The award will be announced on March 30th at the Royal Albert Hall in Britain. The event is also a gala concert for his 80th Birthday, which was on March 2nd.
Some of the other people up for winning the award include CNN’s founder Ted Turner, movie producer Steven Spielberg, mobile phone inventor Martin Cooper, and Brazilian former President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
