Bing Maps Helps Drivers Avoid Traffic Around The World
Now predicting traffic on roads without live traffic data, and offering directions based on traffic conditions, across the globe.
Previously only available in the U.S., Bing Maps is now helping travelers around the world avoid traffic jams with its Clearflow technology.
According to Bing, Clearflow can predict traffic on roads that do not include live traffic data.
Traffic issues across the globe will now be marked with red lines as displayed in the image below. Bing Maps says it will also provide direction details to help determine commute times.
Along with marking traffic problems, Bing Maps also provides a “View route based on traffic” option, so that travelers can “optimize” their route. “This link will adjust your directions to consider alternate routes in case there’s a big backup on the usual route,” says Bing.
You can find the “View route based on traffic” link listed below the travel times, as shown here:
Bing claims its Clearflow technology uses several data points, including live traffic data as well as extrapolated data, to determine traffic conditions.
