Google has inched back above the 66% market share threshold in the latest numbers from Experian Hitwise. And both Bing and Yahoo saw slight drops during the month of September.
Hitwise explains that this is pretty normal: Google’s market share has risen for five of the past six Septembers, while Yahoo’s has declined in each of the past five Septembers.
It was just six months ago that Hitwise credited Bing-powered search — i.e., Bing and Yahoo together — with slightly more than 30% market share.
