    Continues to boggle my mind how many still seem to doubt the value or even existence of the long tail. Or perhaps it is not understanding how to action on it anyway.

    It would be great to see a segment of those keyword searches based on brand vs non-brand. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a high dominance of brand/navigational searches making up the single word queries especially.

    Indeed the long tail “….spells huge opportunity for search marketers” but not without costs.

    I think the big story in the Hitwise data – as well as equally important data from OneStat – is that while the head and the tail are modestly growing, the mid-section is not.
