Has Christmas come six weeks early for Google employees? Business Insider is reporting that the company has given all of its employees a $1,000 holiday cash bonus, 10% salary hikes starting in 2011, and the opportunity to earn additional salary next year, too.

All of this is detailed in what Business Insider says is a confidential memo sent today from CEO Eric Schmidt to all Google employees. Google has not confirmed the report or authenticity of the published memo.

As we’ve reported recently, Google has struggled to keep key personnel. If true, holiday bonuses and company-wide pay raises may help curb that trend.

Postscript: A Google spokesperson has provided this statement to Search Engine Land:

While we don’t typically comment on internal matters, we do believe that competitive compensation plans are important to the future of the company.
