OpenAI expands ChatGPT Ads with bulk product campaigns and deeper reporting

OpenAI is rolling out a batch of ChatGPT Ads updates aimed at making the platform easier to scale, measure and manage, particularly for e-commerce advertisers.

What’s new. Advertisers can now create multiple product feed campaigns and ad groups through spreadsheet uploads in Ads Manager, with ad templates generated automatically. That could significantly reduce setup work for retailers managing large catalogs.

For product advertisers. OpenAI is also adding product review status to the Products tab, allowing advertisers to see where products are in the review process and identify why individual products have been rejected. OpenAI says product-feed ads have been among the strongest-performing ads in its program to date.

On measurement. The public Insights API can now return attributed conversion events beyond the campaign’s selected optimization goal. An advertiser optimizing toward one conversion, for example, can still analyze attributed purchases without changing how the campaign is optimized. OpenAI’s reporting API supports delivery, cost, product and attributed conversion metrics.

More account control. Advertisers can now manage their internal account name, public-facing brand name and registered legal name separately. Changing a brand name triggers review and pauses ad serving until approval, while changing a legal name restarts business review and may also interrupt serving.

Going global. ChatGPT Ads are also expanding across Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan, widening the platform’s footprint across Southeast Asia and Taiwan. OpenAI’s current Ads Manager availability page lists self-service access as available in all seven markets.

The bigger picture. OpenAI is rapidly filling in the operational infrastructure around ChatGPT Ads. Product feeds already allow retailers to turn structured catalogs into ads at scale, including product images, titles and pricing, while the API gives more sophisticated advertisers and platforms programmatic access to campaign data.

The bottom line. ChatGPT Ads are becoming easier to operate at scale. Bulk commerce campaign creation, better product troubleshooting, deeper conversion measurement and a larger geographic footprint give advertisers more reasons to move beyond small experiments and test more sophisticated campaigns.
