The impetus was finding a more appropriate and applicable metric that could stretch across the rapidly expanding number of channels that were exploding through digital delivery. So, the good folks at ARF assembled a […]

It’s Search Engine Strategies San Jose next week. For Chris Sherman and I, it’s our swan song. This is the last SES event that either of us will program, with our search marketing conference efforts going forward focused on our own Search Marketing Expo (SMX) events. But we’ve put our all into making the last […]
Some webmasters may know of Google’s Maile Ohye through her work in Google Webmaster Central, but now she plays a new role explaining issues about search privacy, in a new video from Google. It’s the first of several videos on the subject that Google has announced that it will be doing. I found the first […]
Is it black hat “mapspam,” a mistake or a creative response to a legitimate business need? Mike Blumenthal has chronicled the history of some recent bulk upload abuse on Google Maps in a couple of detailed posts: TechPro’s CEO speaks about Google Maps Bulk Upload abuse and the related Batten down the hatches: More Google […]

Last weekend was apparently a big weekend when it came to weddings and search. Both big names in search got hitched — Gary Price and Sergey Brin. No, not to each other (not that there would be anything wrong with that, of course!). ResourceShelf editor and Ask.com search evangelist Gary Price tied the knot near […]

Are you treating your PPC campaign as an advertising outlet or a marketing opportunity? Many PPC advertisers treat the engines as advertising distribution, but fail to create marketing messages. PPC engines have many features that let you have control over ad display, however, if you just use these features to serve ads—then you’re not taking […]
