I’m willing to fish where the fish are, if that’s the Google of yesterday or the Facebook of today. However, I am also very cautious to allow Facebook to displace my company’s primary marketing channel, our website, with their mix of search and social tools.

Facebook doesn’t need to be your primary marketing channel, but it can be a great way to build an audience who can help market your business for you via social channels

Great insights on Facebook and local search, Andrew. And I agree with you both: The ultimate destination for your customers should be your website. It still amazes me how many business, small and large, direct people to their Facebook page or to Twitter and never even mention their website on their ad. But Facebook IS a huge community and it definitely should not be ignored by any business. It’s good to see that they’re taking strides to stay relevant in local search.

Anyone know who is feeding Local Places to Facebook in the UK? Is there a service like Localeze supplying the data or is FB just showing owner claimed Places / Pages ?
