Great post, it is incredibly helpful to see the breakdown of SEO efforts in bullet points. Most of the SEO overlaps into general content marketing best practices as well. Specifically, the repurposing of content in a curation site and breaking down/presenting a long pdf across 3 blog posts. It’s no wonder that social/seo/content marketing are so hard to distinguish. Thanks for putting this together.

Great tips. The SEO part of any web writing is extremely important if you want it to be findable. The increased visibility of your brand via content marketing relies on it.

Kaci Bower is right that content creation ( I must add quality) – is the best way to do it. It has always been and will work too in future. No alternative.
At the same time it is also most painstaking job. But it also has a weakness – one does not have control over anchor texts and links. So, I think a bit of help or back-up strategy is needed (finding other ways to get links with targeted anchors).
Anyway great article and a valuable read.

Hi Amie – thanks for the compliment and glad you liked the post! There is definitely an overlap (especially with B2B)

Paying attention to details like that are definitely part of what I was trying to capture. That said, it’s also critical not to go overboard as well. And completely agree that having multiple strategies in place as well is a very good idea

Yes Derek – as they say “Content is King” – its very much true. And having a back-up or supporting plan is also necessary. But- the thing is nothing should go beyond a limit or what you say “go over-board” . :)
