I’ve helped clients launch new websites and that is a big enough job in itself. I can’t imagine what doing a whole re-branding campaign must feel like and how many little details you have to keep track of…or how many details you didn’t realize you needed to track until it was too late!

OMG, was this article itself, part of the plan? Hahaha! Yep, I am getting toooo cynical!

Your point about Open Graph was a good catch. That’s something a lot of people probably don’t think about, but it can certainly make an improvement to the way things look when people are sharing.

@patgrady:disqus Exactly what i was thinking; this sort of thing should be outlawed – i made a point of NOT visiting 352!

Web Design Galleries & Awards idea was personally a new one for us. Would be checking out these now.

Erin your point on Facebook Open Graph is also spot on. We are in the course of implementing it for our website. OG does provide a lot of value when it comes to CTR.

What about security when you’re reaching out to people? I read about various social engineering techniques on http://vpnexpress.net that hackers use to hijack data and I don’t want my website or client communication to become an opening for them.

Hi Erin. I guess I’m not following this: “Use the “share” button from your company’s Facebook post on the launch instead of posting on their own.” Could you elaborate or give an example? Thanks!

Congrats on the new site launch, Erin. Make sure you nofollow those press release links! ;-)

  • dunavista

Ha ha Alan, spot on! Nothing but cheap promotion here!

  • Tommy Kim

She’s saying that you should ‘share’ the company’s post on their Facebook page rather than creating your own post with the company’s link

Nice explanation on the OGP.(your other article) Lots of people do not understand the use of it!

Congrats on the new site! We just launched a new responsive site, using a majority of the techniques listed.
