“consumers will eschew search engines in favor of social recommendations or searches on Facebook”

I don’t know if I necessarily believe that is true across the board. Yes, I might ask my friends for their favorite Mexican place or what movie to check out, but if none of my friends are car buying experts I don’t know if their opinion will be enough for me. I think people will still want to tap into the collective know-how of the search engines.

That’s basically the point I was trying to make. The threat of social to search is limited by the information available in anyone’s social network, which tends to be more local-focused.

Haha, concur with you! Information I need, opinions, eh.
