Google adds Campaign Data Import Validation Report

Advertisers can now identify missing campaign metrics in imported data, improving the accuracy of cross-channel reporting.

Google has introduced a Campaign Data Import Validation Report, giving advertisers a new way to check the quality of imported campaign data before it impacts reporting.

The report is designed to help identify missing or incomplete data from non-Google advertising platforms.

What’s happening. The new validation report reviews both non-Google campaign data and previously imported campaign data, highlighting campaigns that may be missing key performance metrics.

Specifically, it helps advertisers identify imports that lack essential reporting fields such as cost, clicks and impressions, making it easier to spot gaps before relying on the data for analysis.

Why we care. Missing or incomplete data can lead to inaccurate reporting, making it harder to compare channels or evaluate marketing performance. The new validation report provides an additional layer of quality control, helping you ensure imported data is complete and reliable.

Bottom line. Google’s new Campaign Data Import Validation Report helps advertisers identify missing campaign metrics and improve the accuracy of imported marketing data.
