The AdWords Expert Blog noticed that for one of his AdWords accounts Google is testing a new tab in the AdWords interface named “opportunities.” The new tab seems to include “ideas” for adding new campaigns, keywords and ad groups to your Google AdWords campaign.

Here is a picture of the new tab:

Do note, adding the “opportunities” tab meant removing the “tools” tab from the top navigation. I have asked Google for a comment on this new tab and hope to update this post when I have more information.

Postscript: Google assured me the tools features are within the opportunities tab and they sent me this statement to go along with that:

As you know, Google constantly tests new tools and features to improve our AdWords product offering and provide additional benefit to our advertisers.

As an additional tool within the new AdWords interface for a small number of U.S. advertisers, we’re currently testing a new Opportunities tab that proactively offers ideas for improving campaign performance. We have no additional news to announce at this time regarding developments for Google AdWords.
