Google to Go on Hiring Spree from MediaWeek reports Google is looking to hire an additional 500 sales people in the near future, as well as bulk up their engineering team and finance, product management and human resources departments.

2009 and parts of 2008, were touch times for most companies, including Google. Google laid off 300 DoubleClick workers in 2008 and then in January 2009, Google reportedly dropped 10,000 contractors and in March they cut 200 sales jobs globally.

So it is nice to see Google hiring again at these levels.
