Bing’s new inline search allows users to search directly from a webpage, word document or PDF file without having to open a Web browser. After highlighting a word or phrase, a user can click the Bing icon to receive search result previews in a separate window.

Bing Desktop also released a new real-time weather app, and updated their news app to include a cascading layout with images and text summaries, and added a visual collection of top trending news items.

One final update includes Facebook notifications now being pushed out to Bing Desktop so that users automatically know when there is activity on their Facebook page.

Bing reports that the Bing Desktop has been downloaded by more than 10 million people.
